More than 20 years after the stop-motion movie "Chicken Run" first graced our screens, its sequel, "Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget" will bring some of the original chickens back, along with new characters and a new setting for a 2023 revival of the series.
While the first movie was produced with DreamWorks Animation, 2023's "Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget" was produced by Aardman Animations and Netflix Animation.
Directed by Sam Fell, the plot of "Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget" follows Ginger, voiced by Thandiwe Newton, as she lives her life with the others at an island sanctuary after escaping from the egg farm in the first movie. But all will not stay peaceful for now.
"Back on the mainland the whole of chicken-kind faces a new and terrible threat. For Ginger and her team, even if it means putting their own hard-won freedom at risk − this time, they’re breaking in!" reads the film summary from Netflix.
