The Met Gala has announced its 2025 co-chairs which include a star-studded cast of Black men.
LeBron James will serve as honorary co-chair while Pharrell Williams, Colman Domingo, A$AP Rocky and Lewis Hamilton are slated to be co-chairs alongside Vogue magazine editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City announced Wednesday. Vogue magazine and the museum also announced next year's Costume Institute's spring 2025 exhibition will be titled "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style."
According to Vogue, the exhibition will draw inspiration from Barnard college professor Monica L. Miller's 2009 book, "Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity," and "will feature garments, paintings, photographs, and more — all exploring the indelible style of Black men in the context of dandyism, from the 18th-century through present day."

The dress code, which is set to be announced early next year, will coincide with the "Superfine" Costume Institute exhibit, which will be on public view from May 6 to Oct. 26 of next year.

Last November, Vogue and the Met revealed the 2024 Met Gala theme as "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion," which was also the name of the accompanying exhibit at the Costume Institute. The Met Gala theme is typically different from the dress code, but still related.

Last year's dress code was "The Garden of Time," inspired by J.G. Ballard's 1962 short story of the same title, per Vogue, and featured celebrities and taste makers in garden-themed garb. The 2024 Met Gala co-chairs were Wintour alongside Latin music superstar Bad Bunny, multi-hyphenate Jennifer Lopez, "Euphoria" A-lister Zendaya and "Thor" star Chris Hemsworth.
Honorary chairs were Loewe creative director Jonathan Anderson and TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew.
